Naps don't have to take up much of your day. Today, I found myself reading the Wikipedia page for power naps. Those are quick naps that typically last between 20 to 30 minutes. Keeping the nap this short allows the napper to avoid sleep inertia, which occurs when the napper wakes up in the middle of the normal sleep cycle and causes grogginess and disorientation.
Not surprisingly, studies have shown that power naps can lead to better performance in the workplace. When, oh when, will power naps become a midday standard?!
